Opportunities to travel together as Garden Club members have not been offered to a great extent in a long time. As the newly appointed Chair of Travel and Tours for the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, your President Claudia Bates and I have made some exciting plans. What could be better than traveling with like-minded friends who share the same passions of plants, flowers, horticulture, floral design and ecology, not to mention shopping, art, music, museums, and great food?
Members are asking for more and varied travel experiences and options so that members from all over the state can get to know each other while enjoying the richness that travel brings. I will be taking suggestions for travel destinations that might appeal to you and your garden club friends. We will have a
survey on the FFGC Web-Site along with other travel itineraries to pick from. Does a cruise through the Hawaiian Islands sound like the trip of a lifetime to you? Want something closer to home such as a trip to Mackinac Island to see the Tulip Show in Michigan or Washington DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival?
We will also be featuring some Flower Shows around the country like the Philadelphia Flower Show, the Newport, Rhode Island Flower Show, and the Festival of Flowers In Mobile, Alabama.
Have you always wanted to visit famous Chelsea Flower Show in London, England? We will be offering a trip to London with the spotlight on the Chelsea
Flower Show. There will also be a trip to the Christmas Markets in Europe on a River Boat Cruise. This cruise is bound to get you in the Holiday Spirit!
The other service we will be offering is transportation to the 92nd Annual Convention and State Flower Show in April at St. Augustine, Florida. We hope we are able to make it easier for everyone to attend and leave the driving to us!
My aim is to make hassle free, safe, and pocket book friendly trips! Let me be your travel guide and take advantage of my 25 plus years of travel professional experience.
